EverBank Stadium, located in Jacksonville, Florida, serves as a premier venue for major sporting events, concerts, and entertainment gatherings. To secure a highly anticipated Monday Night Football game, the stadium’s management team partnered with ISS and Wireless Guardian for a reliable under-vehicle screening solution. The coordination effort also included local law enforcement agencies, facility management company ASM Global, security firm S.A.F.E. Management, and technology reseller C&M Consultants. Together, they aimed to implement a state-of-the-art vehicle screening protocol for the stadium’s most sensitive access points.

Challenge

Professional football games require exhaustive logistical planning and strict access control. On game day, hundreds of authorized vehicles must enter the stadium grounds to facilitate broadcasting, catering, team transport, and law enforcement operations. The primary challenge at EverBank Stadium involved securing the vital loading docks and athlete entry points.

Security personnel needed to thoroughly inspect a vast array of vehicle types, from heavy commercial delivery trucks to specialized police cruisers, civilian sedans, and even small utility golf carts. Relying on traditional inspection methods would have created unacceptable delays, backing up traffic onto city streets and hindering the operational setup for a live, nationally televised broadcast. The venue required a screening solution that was exceptionally fast, highly accurate, and capable of identifying concealed threats—such as explosives, structural anomalies, and illegal contraband—without causing friction at the gates.

Solution

ISS and Wireless Guardian addressed this challenge by deploying the SecurOS® UVSS at the stadium’s critical entry checkpoints. The compact, AI-powered hardware allowed vehicles to drive over the scanning unit without coming to a complete stop. The system utilized high-resolution imaging and intelligent lighting to capture detailed views of complex vehicle undercarriages, regardless of the vehicle’s size or clearance height.

To maximize situational awareness, the security team integrated the UVSS with the SecurOS® Auto License Plate Recognition (LPR) software. This integration ensured that the system automatically matched every high-resolution undercarriage scan with the vehicle’s specific license plate data, make, model, and color. Operators monitoring the central dashboard received instantaneous, comprehensive vehicle profiles, allowing them to make rapid, informed access decisions.

Results

The deployment dramatically improved perimeter security and operational efficiency. During the Monday Night Football event, the automated system successfully scanned the undercarriages of roughly 100 vehicles. The rapid processing speed of the UVSS ensured that delivery trucks, law enforcement vehicles, and team transports entered the facility without enduring long queues.

By combining the UVSS with advanced LPR technology, EverBank Stadium achieved a fully traceable, highly accurate screening process. The collaborative effort between ISS, Wireless Guardian, and stadium management demonstrated the immense value of intelligent video analytics in high-stress environments. The project provided a safer experience for athletes, staff, and fans, proving that robust threat detection does not have to compromise operational speed.
